Full Review Of The Bailey Alliance 59-2

Image
On the last day at Cae Mawr, we filmed our full review of the Bailey Alliance 59-2. What we liked about about the little Bailey: An ideal motorhome for meetups, comfortable and spacious lounge Great motorhome to drive with a responsive engine, easy to park and maneuver Easy to use kitchen, plenty of worktop and cupboard space Nice to sit outside under the awning canopy Video:  Full Review Of The Bailey Alliance 59-2

Anglesey and Travelling K

Image
25th July We travel further into Wales, along the scenic A5 into Anglesey to pitch up at the quiet limited facilities Cae Mawr Caravan and Motorhome Club Site. Video:  Arriving At Cae Mawr Caravan And Motorhome Club Site 26th July Another meetup this time with "Travelling K", Karen Nesbitt, over from New Zealand, at the Bodowyr Campsite. Karen was touring England and Wales in a loaned Peugeot 3008 and Bailey Phoenix 640 Caravan. A chance to compare Bailey vehicles and camping in New Zealand with the UK. Moreton-in-Marsh and Stowe Gardens

Image
21st July We arrived at Moreton-in-Marsh Caravan and Motorhome club site, ready for our meetup with friends and videoed our look around the campsite. Video:  Arriving At Moreton-In-Marsh Motorhome Club Site 22nd July We took a walk into the nearby town and bought some beautiful cheese. We met up for a rather disjointed meal in the local pub, where two of us were stung by a wasp.  23rd July  The following day we took the Bailey to Stowe Gardens a NT property designed by Capability Brown and a meet up with friends. It was a very hot day, possibly the hottest of the whole summer. Video: Meeting Up With Friends

Bailey Alliance 59-2 At Hermanfest 2019

Image
19th July We now headed into the New Forest for another meetup, this time with Ads and Zoe known on YouTube as Herman The Hymer. Together with around 25 units we had a great weekend in the tranquility of the New Forest. Video:  Bailey Alliance 59-2 At Hermanfest 2019

Lawrence Of Arabia And Tanks

Image
18th July As the mobile signal was hopeless, the morning saw us driving to a car park in Swanage to upload yesterday's video. Afterwards, we looked for a NT site nearby and found the one time home of the very famous, TE Lawrence "Lawrence of Arabia", a charming cottage and now museum, called Clouds Hill. Video:  Clouds Hill, Home of Lawrence Of Arabia To round the day off, I took a look around the absolutely massive and amazing Tank Museum at Bovington. Video: The Tank Museum

Dorset, Corfe Castle

Image
16th July We arrived in the Bailey Alliance 59-2 at Hunters Moon Caravan And Motorhome Club Site, near Wareham in Dorset, and had a little look around the site. Video:  Hunters Moon Caravan And Motorhome Club Site 17th July  We drove to Corfe for a great day out at Corfe Castle and a trip on The Swanage railway. We parked in the wrong car park, spent an hour walking through a jungle of ferns to the castle, only to discover we could have caught the train to the castle. The tremendous cheese lunch at the NT Corfe Castle Cafe was highly recommended and thoroughly deserved. Next time, park in the NT car park. Video:  Corfe Castle And Swanage Railway

Day Trip To Lynton and Lynmouth

Image
14th July We drove the Bailey down to the charming towns of Lynton and Lynmouth. Lynton, perched high on a cliff above the seaside town of Lynmouth. A stunning drive across Exmoor, testing the compactness of the motorhome to it's fullest extent on the narrow country lanes.  We tested parking again, and took  the Cliff Railway, the highest and steepest totally water powered railway in the world, to take us down to Lynmouth. Video:  Drive to Lynton and Lynmouth We looked around Lynmouth and explored the Glen Lyn Gorge, where the once destructive waters of the East Lyn River now provide hydroelectric power for the village. Video:  Glen Lyn Gorge To round off our day day trip, we drove to The Valley of The Rocks and made our way back to the campsite via Countisbury Hill and Porlock Hill, one seriously steep hill! Tewkesbury and Dulverton

Image
11th July We moved onto Tewkesbury Abbey Caravan and Motorhome Club site, and filmed the route in for our overnight stop on our way to Dulverton. A quick look around this lovely site. Video:  Arriving At Tewkesbury Abbey Caravan And Motorhome Club Site 12th July We travelled to Dulverton and the Exmoor House Caravan and Motorhome club site. It was great to get a site discount because we took one of the smaller pitches, most bigger units avoid. Another advantage of a smaller van! Great meal at the nearby pub. Making Up The Bed In The Bailey Alliance 59-2

8th July 2019 As the 6 metre Bailey has a make up bed, the first task that evening was to make it up. How would I get on - it was my job for the next three weeks, how did I get on on the first night and what about that in fill cushion? Video:  Making Up The Bed

Getting to know the Bailey Alliance 59-2

Image
Bailey of Bristol kindly lent us a motorhome to review for our YouTube channel. We had a whole three weeks to do a full live in review and record our tour. 8th July 2019 The loaned Bailey Alliance arrived on the back of a low loader truck, we spent the first few hours moving stuff from our own Motorhome to the little Bailey. In the first video we gave our first impressions of the Bailey Alliance 59-2, as we load up and set out for Southport Caravan and Motorhome Club Site, all of three miles away. It gave us a chance to get to know the little van, find out that we had the wrong water hose and where everything could fit - how would get on with a motorhome nearly 1.8 metres shorter than ours?
