Q. Why don't you change the name of your channel?
A. We've been asked this question many times, but decided against it. The reasons are: 1) It is easier to search for "Bob Earnshaw" than "Bob, Jenny and Poppy's Motorhome Adventures or some similarly complicated name. 2) Everyone knows and remembers my name now. 3) Jenny does not want her name on the channel, she's happy to be filmed and comment in the videos, she's more than happy that I do the majority of the filming, editing and answering all the comments and she can take a back seat if she needs or wants to. 4) If I make videos on something other than motorhomes, it's not inappropriate.
Q. Does Jenny drive the Motorhome?
A. No, although she has a licence she doesn't drive and has never enjoyed driving, unlike me.
Q. What is the black cloth you have on your dashboard?
It's photographic cloth to stop windscreen reflections when we're filming driving footage.
Q. What jobs did you used to have?
We had a Sage Reseller Software business and Jenny wrote database systems to work with Sage. Before that, I worked as a Technical Manager for BT and Jenny was a Branch Manager for the Halifax.
Q. Can you recommend a make and a model of Motorhome?
A. No. There are so many makes and models to choose from and it is a very personal choice. There is an awful lot of money involved, so I wouldn't want to tell you how to spend it. The important thing is to find a layout that suits you and a good dealer.
Q. Why don't you get a Caravan?
A. The main benefit of a motorhome is that it is a flexible vehicle. When we stay at sites for shows and we stay in one place for a week, we can. We tow a small car with us for that. No need to move, and this way it is much like a caravan. The car is then used for driving to and from the show and for going out. A small car is easier to park in towns and get around narrow country lanes than a large tow car and it also makes a useful trailer.
When we want to travel around, stopping over night at places, we can. We don't take the car with us for these tours. Great for touring Europe or Scotland.
When we want to go out just for the day, we have everything with us, toilet, cooking, fridge and even our beds. Great for visiting museums and castles.
A motorhome can be used for many purposes, towing a variety of trailers, a car, or a boat, or a box trailer or trailer with bikes, motorbikes.
The best thing is that everything is self contained and you can never forget things when you go out in it!

Q. Why does Tara not always come with you?
A. Tara is my sister's dog, who sometimes comes with us, when we are looking after her.
Q. How does Poppy travel in the motorhome?
A. She travels in a Ferplas Atlas size 30 travel crate. It's like her second bed and she's very happy travelling in there.
Q. How old is Poppy.
A. Poppy was born in 2013.
Q. What dashcam do you use for your driving footage?
A. I don't use a dashcam for driving footage, I use a GoPro Hero 10 for the best driving footage.

A. They are like sleeping bags, with a memory foam mattress topper and a duvay that is attached on one side, open on the other.
Q. What type of rear view camera do you have on your motorhome?
A. Our Swift Kon-Tiki Sport came fitted with twin rear cameras, made by Sargeant.
Q. What do you use to fill the water?
A. I use a Hitchman Aquaroll
Q. How do you clean the roof?
A. A ladder, a brush and Autoglym shampoo.

ReplyDeleteHi Bob we have a 2017 Swift Bolero 714s we have just discovered the tinted acrylic plastic on the door has come a drift I am going to remove it by using fishing line what would you suggest to secure it back on the door. I look forward to your respnce. Keith
